Skipton-based CPOMS provides protection software to schools. It was acquired by Raptor Technologies following strategic investments in Raptor by private equity firm Thoma Bravo and existing investor JMI Equity. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The CPOMS Safeguard Platform enables primary and secondary school staff to register student welfare concerns, while the CPOMS StaffSafe product strengthens staff governance and the CPOMS Engage module ensures alignment between schools and local authorities.
The company experienced significant organic growth following an investment from ECI Partners in March 2018, growing its customer base from 6,000 schools to over 14,000 schools. It has also significantly increased its international presence, now selling to 34 countries.
Gray Hall, CEO of Raptor Technologies, will lead the extended organization, while John Wild, current Managing Director of CPOMS, becomes Managing Director of UK Operations for Raptor and CPOMS, working alongside the existing management team of CPOMS.

Raptor plans to use the acquisition of CPOMS to accelerate its growth in the UK and to leverage the capabilities of CPOMS to strengthen its offering in the US.

Raptor has closed a new round of strategic funding led by software investment firm Thoma Bravo for the deal with additional participation from existing investors JMI Equity and Ares Capital.
